During their individual online/virtual annual business meetings in mid-November, leaders from the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues' respective boards of directors thanked industry professionals for their enduring advocacy and support in 2022 — a year where the movement continued spotlighting its unique “member owned” model and financial wellbeing philosophy to local communities.

“You continued to serve your members during another year full of unique challenges and opportunities,” said Leagues President and CEO Diana Dykstra, who applauded California and Nevada credit unions and league board members for their work in local regions. “You also continue doing great work, and I want to thank all of you for your commitment, trust, and support.”

This year marked the California League’s 87th annual meeting and the Nevada League’s 53rd annual meeting. It was highlighted by challenges and opportunities coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic — and as usual, credit unions across California and Nevada stood tall. Credit unions across California and Nevada benefitted from 20 state legislative victories, 15 regulatory accomplishments, 11 major wins in Congress, numerous initiatives, meetings, urgent alerts, and robust grassroots advocacy-in-action that crafted better policies for a positive impact on operations and members.

You can view the California League and Nevada League impact reports, which display how industry leaders worked to help each other and their members. Each state’s league shielded credit unions from harmful legislation and burdensome ideas and initiatives, as well as fought for positive state and federal bills.
