Program Prepares for ‘Epic’ Year with CA & NV Credit Unions

As 2023 funding pledges begin rolling in to the Credit Union Awareness program, participating credit unions are reminded they can measure online traffic from YourMoneyFurther.com directly to their own websites, as well as target and engage consumers who click-through from the locator/matcher tool.
So far, seven credit unions in California have pledged more than $204,000 (combined) for the 2023 program, with the goal being $1.46 million. In Nevada, two credit unions have pledged more than $43,000 (combined), with the goal being $155,000. Local 2023 participants include:
- California: Farmers Insurance FCU, SchoolsFirst FCU, South Bay CU, Coast Central CU, Pacific Service CU, Upward CU, and Desert Valleys FCU.
- Nevada: Financial Horizons CU and Silver State Schools CU.
Since April 1, more than 350,000 credit union locator/matcher visits have been made nationwide, thanks to 15 million consumer visits to YourMoneyFurther.com — all in only six months! Consumers are doing a lot of credit union "discovery and review" using the locator tool, and time on the site has shifted from 30 seconds per-visit to more than 3 minutes.
YourMoneyFurther.com is the industry’s only national and state-level consumer resource that connects more local consumers directly to local credit unions. “We have lots of work to do to continue the robust program that California and Nevada credit unions deserve,” said Chris Lorence, executive director of CU Awareness LLC. “For those participating, 2023 is going to be epic for connecting consumers with credit unions.”

Additionally, analysis of membership data since the launch also indicates nearly 60 percent of participating states experienced a growth rate of 10 percent or higher.
Background and History
In 2019, when the Credit Union Awareness program launched, the goal was to increase awareness and consideration for credit unions in younger-age demographics. This goal was exceeded and continues to be surpassed every year by targeting the right consumers at the right time in the decision-making process.
Today, more than 14 million consumers visited YourMoneyFurther.com in 2022, with 66 percent of those in the 18-44 age bracket.
YourMoneyFurther.com is a consumer-facing website that encourages visitors to learn more about the benefits of credit unions, and ultimately the pathways to membership. Recently, Credit Union Awareness LLC launched an expanded program strategy that directly connects more highly qualified consumer leads to credit unions by linking to credit union websites.
