CUs Impacted by Wildfires can Reach Out to CUAid Immediately

As wildfires devastate parts of California and Nevada, CUAid is available to financially assist the communities and members that local credit unions serve. This action-response program harnesses the generosity of the credit union movement to provide grant assistance for disaster relief.

The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues and the National Credit Union Foundation would like to remind League members to file an emergency financial assistance application if their credit union or members need immediate help.

How to Activate CUAid
Please consider the following resources to receive assistance:

CUAid Disaster Recovery app:

  • The CUAid Disaster Recovery app helps streamline and connect credit unions and industry organizations with one another to quickly coordinate resources when disasters strike — including wildfires, earthquakes, floods, and more.
  • You can download the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (or download the desktop version here).

Donations from credit unions, individuals, and others:

For questions regarding the CUAid program or Disaster Recovery app, email ncuf@ncuf.coop.

For League questions regarding CUAid, email league@ccul.org. Additionally, credit unions can access a Business Continuity Plan template on the Leagues’ Crisis Response webpage, as well as insurance policyholder information from CUNA Mutual Group.

Wildfires Update
California Gov. Gavin Newsom recently proclaimed a state of emergency in the counties of Riverside, El Dorado, and Placer due to the Fairview Fire and the Mosquito Fire. The Leagues will continue to update credit unions as necessary.
