Angela Harden, facilities assistant manager with Bay FCU, has been named one of the five finalists in the 2022 CUES Emerge program (Credit Union Executives Society). CUES Emerge applicants are young credit union leaders and professionals from all over the nation.

Through a selection process, 30 people were chosen to make up this year’s cohort for the CUES Emerge program.

“They worked hard throughout the education and competition phases and presented intriguing business cases for our judging panel,” said CUES President and CEO John Pembroke. “The five finalists chosen have a wide range of business cases that address challenges and bring new ideas that many credit unions share.”

They spent a number of sessions learning from some of North America’s top educators, and followed them up with “Mastermind” sessions to discuss what they learned and how it can apply to a project at their credit union.

Applicants took the additional step to write and submit a business case for that project. Five senior credit union executives made up a judging panel that reviewed the business cases and chose five finalists to proceed to the Live Pitch Show on Oct. 5. At the Live Pitch Show, finalists will pitch their ideas via live-stream online to an international audience, with judges selecting the winner to be named the CUES Emerging Leader.

The Live Pitch Show can be viewed at CUESEmerge.com on Oct. 5 at 9 am. (Pacific). Following the live show, judges will select the top three — and then the ultimate 2022 CUES Emerging Leader will be named out of those three. Each top-three winner will receive a tiered education and coaching package to support continued development and growth within the industry.
