With Congress out of session for the August District Recess, credit union advocates have been highly engaged with their local lawmakers all over California and Nevada.

From advocating against credit card interchange fee legislation, to pushing for federal charter enhancements, to advancing America’s communities in providing greater financial wellbeing for all, credit union leaders and advocates have been stepping up.

Over the past few weeks, and through the next two upcoming weeks, meetings are happening with both Nevada senators (Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen), California Representatives Linda Sanchez and Nanette Barragan, and Nevada Representative Mark Amodei.

The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues and member credit unions will continue to meet with congressional delegations leading up to the Leagues Sept. 13 “Hike the Hill” gathering in Washington D.C. Several credit union leaders are also meeting with their members of Congress outside of Leagues-hosted meetings.
