Golfers Raise $75,000 for Foundation’s Financial Ed. Programs

Nearly $75,000 was raised during the 2022 Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) / Origence Annual Golf Classic on Aug. 1, which drew 110 golfers and 28 sponsors who took to the links at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA!
The Richard Myles Johnson Foundation (RMJ) is the state foundation for credit unions in California and Nevada, funding financial education programs and helping credit unions fulfill their mission of serving their local communities. The foundation is able to fund these vital programs because of generous donations from credit unions and credit union organizations.
In addition to Origence — the event’s title sponsor — other major sponsors were CO-OP Financial Services, CUNA Mutual Group, PSCU, SchoolsFirst FCU, Catalyst Corporate FCU, Educational Employees CU, Kinecta FCU, and the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues.
“We’re so grateful for all the support from our sponsors and golfers,” said RMJ Executive Director Tena Lozano. “It was another beautiful day on the course, and we were able to raise a good sum of money to support our Bite of Reality® program and other projects.”
The tournament’s winning first-place foursome came from CUNA Mutual Group: Jeff Ramos, Brain Flynn, Jonathon Allen, and Jun Yoshioka (pictured).
The second-place team hailed from accounting-consulting firm SingerLewak and consisted of Shelia Balzar, Jeremy Dillard, Cindy Law, and James Kliegl.
The third-place team was from CO-OP Financial Services: David Stevens, Bill Rice, Gary Vlcek, and Jay Lassiter.
