The results are in for the Credit Union Legislative Action Council's (CULAC) June "$30 by the 30th" fundraising challenge! In just 30 days, California credit unions raised $6,245 toward the Federal PAC, with credit union leaders going above and beyond the fundraising goal of $5,000.

Last year, California raised $4,145 for the "$30 by the 30th" challenge, which means credit unions throughout the state increased donations by a whopping 51 percent this year!

"Thank you to all our 92 individual credit union leaders who donated this month," said Angelica Pappalardo, political advocacy manager for the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues. "From donations ranging from $30 to $1,000, everyone came out strong to show their support for CULAC. We cannot thank you enough, nor could we do it without you!"

The California Credit Union League would also like to thank every "$5,000 President’s Club Donor" for 2022 (below). The club maxed-out donations to CULAC for 2022:

  • Diana Dykstra, president and CEO of the Leagues.
  • Dave Roughton, CEO of SAFE CU.
  • Michael Duffy, CEO of Financial Center CU.
  • Eric Day, longtime board member of CU of Southern California.

On the national level, CULAC has raised a total of $62,930! Though it's impressive, what CULAC can accomplish with it is even more incredible. CULAC is the prime resource to help provide a voice for credit unions on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., all while supporting the ongoing mission to enhance financial wellbeing for all consumers.

"Your contribution to CULAC helps support candidates for Congress who share that critical goal, so we thank you," Pappalardo said.

As the Leagues are gearing up for the November election, these donations will help weigh-in on critical congressional races to ensure the credit union movement elects credit union-friendly candidates into Congress. Each donor's support goes a long way!

"Thank you again to all of our donors during the June CULAC challenge," Pappalardo said. "We can’t wait to see what you do next year."

The donor list will be on full display at the Leagues' annual REACH Conference from Nov. 1 - 4 during the PAC Contributors Reception!
