During this week's National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) board meeting, the board received an update regarding the optional post-exam feedback survey.

The pilot launched in September 2021 and was administrated by the NCUA’s ombudsman, which gathers input from credit unions on the agency’s pre-examination, reporting, and post-examination requirements.

The agency announced the program in a letter to federal credit unions last year. In the letter, the agency said the survey will allow credit unions to provide timely feedback to the agency while helping standardize the feedback process.

Through the pilot, which concluded in March 2022, 1,058 credit unions received the survey and 186 participated.

NCUA staff discussed with the board several ways to potentially increase participation, including the use of a third-party to disseminate the survey, as well as incorporating the survey into the NCUA’s Modern Examination and Risk Identification Tool (MERIT).
